City Weavers: September 2008

Erica Update

I know some of you are going to say, "Where is Erica?", well, she was with her Dad for the summer so we are running low on Erica photos. I promise to get some taken soon and get them posted. She has started CAPA High, for Musical Theater. They run block periods so she only has CAS Biology, CAS Geometry and Spanish in the morning and then after lunch she has her Major (Theater) classes. There are 4 different teachers in this area, Acting, Voice (Singing), Dance and Voice (Speaking). So far she is enjoying the classes and really getting a work out in the Dance class. Everyone is really motivating and enthusiastic about being there, that really makes a difference!

Dragon Boat Festival

Yes, we had a little Beijing right here on the South Side river bank. Asian food, dancing and singing. You could even sign up to row a Dragon Boat. We were too late, there was no room left, but we plan on being there early next year. This is one of the Olympic Mascots from Beijing!

The Last Blooms of Summer

VEGAS BABY!

Jonathan got to go to Vegas on business and too bad it was mostly business. He did get to lounge around in the hot tub and pool at his hotel, but that was about it... as far as I know! You know the saying what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.... isn't that right, Jonathan??

First Day of Kindergarten!

Well he would not let us take a normal picture this year.... if you can call last year's gangster pic normal. So this is all we got! He has good days and bad, his teacher is probably the meanest in the whole school, REALLY. He will get used to it and I keep telling him NEXT year will be so much better! :)

It's Soccer Season...

Nate started soccer at the end of August, it will finish up around mid-October. His coach is the Mom of one of his friends from Kindergarten and she is also a gym teacher, so he is learning a lot. He has scored some goals and seems to really enjoy the game! (Nice shirt, right Kevin and Liam!)
