Schools out for SUMMER!

Sons of the American Revolution

Who knew a girl could get an award from the 'SAR'? Erica did for her interest in American History. An 8th grade boy and girl from schools all around the Pittsburgh area came to Soldiers and Sailors for the ceremony. Erica got a pin and certificate.

They are Just Friends...

The 8th grade had a dinner/dance. Erica asked her FRIEND Sky to attend as her guest. Don't they look cute?

Official Promotion to Kindergarten

Nate and his classmates sang songs, Nate read a book, 'From Head To Toe' by Eric Carle, and his friends acted it out with pictures and they all received certificates. There was a small reception that followed with snacks.

Jonathan's angels....

Not sure if you all know about Jonathan's church group experience, if you do these are the little angels he talked about so much. If you don't, you should ask him about it... They were in the dance recital and they did a great job!

City Garden In Bloom!

I love the little bit of garden that I have and it has really grown like crazy this year. Can you believe that is the rose bush that Zoe gave us? It has already bloomed twice! The flowers are beautiful.

Here is the dino that Erica helped paint back in 5th Grade. It is in Oakland across from the Carnegie Museum. Stop by for a pic if you are ever in the neighborhood!

Jumpstart says good-bye!

As I had posted in an earlier entry, Nate had the great opportunity to share some time this year with the college students from Pitt.  Here he is with his Jumpstart buddy, Ms. Laura, his best friend James and James' Jumpstarter Mr. Max!

Art All Night!

One of our favorite events is Art All Night.  It is held at some off the wall vacant building or warehouse in Lawrenceville and it runs for 24 hours.  Anyone can put in a piece of art for viewing. Erica created this acrylic/chalk pastel drawing.

Play Ball!

Nate has started T-Ball. It actually started up late April and is still going on. Last week he got hit with the ball, in the eye! He won't let me take a pic, it is ugly, but no stitches needed. He wants to go back, which shocked his Mom! GO NATE!
